THE STORY SO FAR...Established in August 2019, The Old Garage was set up by Julian and Lucy Chenoweth. Though relatively new to the industry, this being their first venture in wine, the pair are passionate and dedicated in their mission to bring the best of wines from across the globe, to their flagship store on the Roseland peninsula, Cornwall.
They worked tirelessly with suppliers and producers to ensure that there is something for everyone on their impressive, eclectic wine list. In December 2020, Julian and Lucy welcomed Elly Owen, IMBIBE sommelier of the Year 2020, to the Directors Board. Elly joined the team with a wealth of knowledge, expertise and years of experience in Hospitality under her belt, and completes the trio of Directors at the helm of The Old Garage. Amid the global pandemic, in December 2020, the team then opened their second store, in the trendy Duchy of Cornwall community of Nansledan on the outskirts of Newquay. The Old Garage are steadfast on providing a personable experience, ensuring you’re in good hands- regardless of your personal taste! With room to expand on their already impressive wine list, they will be creating a truly customer-led business, and have made it clear that they will continue to train, learn and explore as suggestions and selling patterns emerge. There’s a strong focus on showcasing not just the best of Cornwall, but the best of the world; producers with great stories and producers with great ethics, not to mention specialist areas including biodynamic, sulphate free and vegan. The Old Garage will quickly become a wine shop you feel you know, like returning to an old friend. You’ll be looked after and there will always be time for a chat. The Old Garage will always welcome your thoughts and reviews of the wines you try – all of the info will be stored in your customer file so you’ll always have a record of it. Returning customers will be safe in the knowledge that their previous purchases are recorded, meaning recommendations can be made according to taste. Your wife loved that bottle of red with the dandelion on the label and you want to get her something similar but more special for her birthday? No problem! The Old Garage team are there to help. |

In December 2021 we opened The Old Garage Cafe on the Roseland!
We're open Monday - Saturday from early in the morning until mid afternoon serving breakfasts, brunch, coffees, cake and snacks!
During peak season we'll be open longer hours and Sundays too, but for now, keep an eye on our social media for up to date news!
